Tobacco Grades and Specifications
Everything we sell, in one place, with what each grade is and where it goes. Nicotine, moisture and cleanliness vary by crop and season, so the tested figure for the lot you are buying is the fact and it travels with the material.
Unmanufactured leaf and byproduct
- Charotar leaf, graded: Whole leaf · Rain-fed sun-cured leaf, graded and unbroken · Premium bidi blends, extraction where yield per tonne decides the cost · Nicotine high, up to 6% · HS heading 2401
- Bidi patti: Graded leaf material, the main bidi stream off our line · Bulk bidi manufacture, also bought as extraction feedstock · Nicotine high · HS heading 2401
- Refuse: Broken leaf and offcuts off grading and handling · Bulk extraction feedstock, lower grade blends · Nicotine varies by lot · HS heading 2401
- Rava: Coarse granular fraction off the sieve · Blend filling, extraction where the particle size suits the process · Nicotine varies by lot · HS heading 2401
- Dust: Fine fraction off the sieve · Extraction feedstock at the lowest cost per tonne, blend component · Nicotine varies by lot · HS heading 2401
- Stems: Stem separated at threshing · Extraction and stem lines, priced accordingly · Nicotine low · HS heading 2401
- Chewing tobacco raw material: Unmanufactured leaf and fractions supplied to chewing tobacco makers · Nicotine varies by lot · HS heading 2401
Specification: moisture, particle size, packing and minimum order are confirmed per enquiry against current stock. Nicotine is measured in-house by titration lot by lot, and the tested figure for your lot goes on the batch report with the consignment.

- Cut rag, benchmark matched: Blended, cased and cut to a spec matched against your reference · Ready to feed straight into the maker · HS heading 2403
- Ready blend: Lots blended to a benchmark or to a nicotine target, cut or uncut · For manufacturers without a blending line, and extraction plants buying to a set nicotine level · HS heading 2403
- Threshed lamina: Lamina separated from stem, grades cut on toll through our Guntur GLT partner · For makers and exporters who want lamina and grades rather than whole leaf · HS heading 2401

What we test on every lot
Nicotine by titration, moisture, foreign matter and sand, and a grade check against the agreed sample. Written report with the consignment. How the testing works.
How to read this page
The parameters that move price most are nicotine, moisture and sand. The parameters that cause the most arguments after delivery are moisture and foreign matter, because they are the ones that change in transit. Put both in writing on the order and there is nothing to argue about later.
